FruitFall Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 August 2026
The short version. FruitFall has no accounts and does not know who you are. It never sells your data. It collects a small amount of anonymous gameplay information to run the leaderboard, understand how the game is used, and find out when it crashes. The website at crowetz.com/fruitfall carries no advertising of any kind and never will. The Android and iOS apps include Google’s AdMob advertising SDK and a purchase SDK; those are described in section 6 below, and they are the only part of FruitFall that involves an advertising identifier.
FruitFall (“the game”, “we”, “us”) is developed by Alan Crowetz / Crowetz. This policy explains what information the game collects when you play — on the web at crowetz.com/fruitfall, or in the Android and iOS apps — and what we do with it.
What we collect
1. Leaderboard entries
If you choose to submit a score, we store the score, a display name you type in, and optionally a character choice and a short title you write yourself. That name is not verified and is not tied to any account — it can be anything you like. Both the name and the title are automatically screened for profanity before being stored. This information is public, which is the entire point of a leaderboard, and stays on the board indefinitely unless you ask us to remove it.
2. Anonymous gameplay statistics
The game sends small anonymous signals to our own server so we can see aggregate numbers — how many games are played, and how far players get. For example, a “game finished” event plus basic technical details such as your platform, screen size, and browser or OS version. This is not linked to your name, your leaderboard entry, or any personal identifier, and it is never used to track you across other apps or websites.
3. Crash reports
The mobile app includes crash reporting from Sentry. When the game hits an unexpected error, it automatically sends a report containing the technical details of the fault: the error message, the internal stack trace, your device model, and your OS version. This exists purely so we can find and fix bugs — often before you would think to report one. It contains no name, no email address, no location, and no advertising identifier, and we do not use it to identify you. Sentry processes this data on our behalf as our service provider. The web version of the game does not send crash reports.
4. On your device only
Your settings (mute, reduced motion, and so on), your saved progress, and your local high score are stored only on your own device — in your browser's local storage on the web, or the app's own local storage on Android and iOS. None of it is sent to us.
5. If you contact us
The website has a contact form. The app instead gives you a direct “email us” link that opens your own email app. Anything you send us that way is used only to reply to you.
6. Advertising and purchases — the Android and iOS apps only
The website version of FruitFall carries no advertising and contains no advertising or analytics SDK. That is a deliberate, permanent decision, and nothing in this section applies to it.
The Android and iOS apps include two third-party components:
- Google AdMob, for rewarded video and occasional interstitial ads. Google’s
own documentation states that its Mobile Ads SDK collects your device’s advertising
identifier and app set ID, your IP address (which can be used to estimate a general area, not a
precise location), your interactions with the app such as launches, taps and video views, and
technical performance information such as launch time. Google uses this for advertising,
measurement, analytics and fraud prevention. Unlike Cloudflare and Sentry, Google is a
separate company receiving this data for its own advertising purposes, not a service provider
acting only for us. This is the one place where FruitFall involves anything that could
reasonably be called tracking. Google’s handling of it is described in its own
partner privacy
policy.
The SDK starts up when the app launches, which is why this applies even at times when no ad is actually being shown. On Android you can limit or reset the advertising identifier in Settings; on iOS the app asks for permission before any tracking, and answering “Ask App Not to Track” means only non-personalised ads are requested. In the European Economic Area and the UK you are shown a consent form on first launch, and non-personalised ads are used unless you consent. - RevenueCat, which manages the one-time “remove ads” purchase. It receives the purchase and entitlement state for an anonymous, app-generated identifier so the app knows whether to show ads. It does not receive your name or email, and your card details never reach us or RevenueCat — the payment is handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. RevenueCat acts as our service provider.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, or photos, and we never request access to your camera or microphone. FruitFall has no account system and no login. The apps request no permission other than internet access.
Who we share it with
We use Cloudflare to host the game and run the backend that powers the leaderboard and the statistics service, Sentry to receive crash reports from the app, and RevenueCat to manage purchases in the app. All three act only as our infrastructure and service providers, under their own security practices.
In the Android and iOS apps only, Google (AdMob) also receives the advertising data described in section 6 above, as a separate company for its own advertising purposes. That is the only such transfer, it does not happen on the website at all, and we never sell or rent your information to anyone, including advertisers and data brokers. No other third party receives any FruitFall data.
Children's privacy
FruitFall is rated for general audiences and is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has entered personal information — a real name typed into the leaderboard name field, for instance — contact us and we will remove it.
Your choices
- You can play FruitFall without ever submitting a leaderboard score. In that case nothing about you is sent anywhere beyond the anonymous gameplay statistics and crash reports described above — plus, in the Android and iOS apps only, the advertising data in section 6.
- Play on the web at crowetz.com/fruitfall if you would rather no advertising SDK were involved at all. It is the same game, free, with no ads and no advertising identifier, ever.
- On Android, reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads. On iOS, decline the tracking prompt, or turn off Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Either way the game keeps working exactly as before.
- To request removal of a leaderboard entry, or to ask what data we hold about you, email [email protected].
Where things stand today
Being precise about this, because it changed recently:
- The advertising and purchase SDKs described in section 6 are present in the Android and iOS apps now, and they start up with the app. This page describes what they collect whether or not an ad is currently being displayed.
- Ads are not currently being served to players while the app is in closed testing, and the “remove ads” purchase is not yet available for sale. Both may be switched on without this page changing again, which is why it already describes them fully.
- The website version will never carry advertising, in-app purchases, or any third-party advertising or analytics SDK.
This page is updated, with a new “Last updated” date, whenever any of that changes.
